Creator's Key Takeaways

We've been to Chops many times over the years. I don't think we've ever had one that's sort of disappointed us really.

The beef was overcooked. I thought it was expensive for what we paid for it.

I can't imagine going back to Giovani ever again.

It was just a really enjoyable meal.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Avoid going to Chops Grille on 'white night' if you don't want steak sauce down yourself.
Consider the value of the Sake & Sushi experience at Izumi, as the beef course may be overcooked.
Be prepared for potential service issues at Giovanni's Table, such as courses being served simultaneously.

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

We love a speciality dining experience on a cruise (or on land) and in our Speciality Dining Review for Royal Caribbeans Independence of the Seas we look at three of their favourites, Chops Grille, Izumi & Giovanni's Table, and one of these was our worst speciality dining experience on a cruise in the past 25 years. We've visited all of these speciality dining venues on other Royal Caribbeans ships in the past, but it was our first time doing the Sushi & Sake experience at Izumi, and a return to Chops Grille and Giovanni's Table. We never want to give a negative review, after all, we are Suite Natured :) but this really was so bad, it made our previous worst ever seem great.
