St Lucia Travel Vlog | Hiking the Petit Piton | Things to do in St Lucia | Caribbean Cruise

In this video we spend our port day in St. Lucia by exploring the island and hiking up the challenging Petit Piton. The Petit Piton is the smaller of the two well known Pitons on the island of St. Lucia. We chose to hike Petit because it was known to be more challenging and involves rock climbing. This excursion was not offered through the Celebrity Summit, likely due to the time it takes and the difficulty level. This hike is for those who are fit and adventurous. If you are considering this hike, know that there is risk involved. Portions of the last quarter of the climb are nearly vertical. One must use ropes and be able to hold most of your body weight, after a vigorous hike. Climb at your own risk. We were initially not sure if we would be able to hike the Petit Piton when visiting on a cruise ship. It is approximately 2.5 hours round trip from the cruise port to the base of the Petit Piton. The hike typically takes visitors between 3.5 and 5 hours. After much research we finally located a tour company that ensured us they had picked up guests from the cruise port, hiked to the top of the Piton and returned to the ship before the all aboard time. Our guide Shanus, the Mountain Fox, did an wonderful job ensuring we made it to the top and allowing us to enjoy our time at the top when we made it. Overall, St. Lucia Tours and the Petit Piton hike exceeded our expectations. We would do it all over again.
