A full day at Mahogany Bay / Isla Roatan - Honduras. We spent most of the day at Daniel Johnson's Sloth and Monkey Hangout where we got to hold a sloth and interact with monkeys. We also spent some time with different birds and parrots that were rescued. As part of the tour, we got to spend a couple of amazing hours snorkeling at French Cay Marine Park. Everyone was so friendly and made the day such a fun experience. We booked this excursion directly through them and not through Carnival. The tour operators that are not booked through Carnival are not allowed into the port area, so you will need to meet them outside the port area. It is about a 5 minute walk from the ship to where the taxis are and you can either take a short taxi ride to the end of the road, or you can walk up and down a hill, about a 10 minutes I believe. We took the short and inexpensive taxi ride ($2 per person) to meet them. They offer different tours on their website, and we chose the "Monkey Snorkeling" tour and added on the iguana park visit. Brigitte was our dedicated driver who was with us the entire time and she was very friendly. We did not do the city tour since Andrea did not feel too well after the iguanas visit and we headed back to the ship for a little and then took the chairlifts over to Mahogany Bay beach area. We spent a couple of very relaxing hours at the beautiful beach area. Definitely a great time at this port and this was probably our most enjoyable port to date.
