YouTube Video Description

Our favorite day of an Alaskan cruise is the day you spend in Glacier Bay National Park! Being this close to glaciers is just amazing! And going at the end of the season you can get even closer as the seals are mating in the summer near the ice and you cannot get as close. If you are lucky, you see and hear the calving. This is where a piece breaks off and falls into the water. It sounds like thunder! And the glaciers are definitely active, as you can see from all of the ice chunks floating in the water. We saw many but were able to get near the two largest which are John Hopkins Glacier and Margerie Glacier. The cruise ship will come in near the glacier and slowly make a 180 degree turn so you can see from any angle. Also, Holland America opens up the bow of their ships for viewing and serves traditional Dutch pea soup on deck. It was really nice and warm on this cold day. Speaking of cold, this will be the coldest day of your Alaskan cruise... for obvious reasons. After a full day of glacier viewing... we warmed up in the spa! We love a good thermal suite and the Koningsdam had an excellent one! In addition to this day, we spent a lot of time in there! #glacierbay #alaskacruise #koningsdam Please SUBSCRIBE, Comment, Like, Share & Follow! *Check out our travel & camera gear on Amazon* https://www.amazon.com/shop/eecctravels This link has all of the camera gear we use to create our videos!!
