This Tiny Maine Town Has the Most Insane Lobster We've Ever Eaten

Today (Day 4) marks the first official port stop on our 7-Day NCL Getaway, New England & Canada Cruise. After being stuck in Manhattan awaiting a storm to pass, and cruising through rough weather and high seas, we finally reach Bar Harbor, Maine. Bar Harbor is a tender port, so we'll take a tender boat from the ship into town, admiring all the fall color along the way. Once in Bar Harbor, we walk through town to Cafe This Way and get breakfast, and our first lobster dish (lobster benedict) of many for the day. We'll stop at a number of restaurants know for lobster dishes, as well as New England clam chowder to determine the best of the best. On our tour, we'll pass the Abbe Museum, which showcases the native Wabanaki Nations' heritage. Across from the museum, we tour an ancient town burying ground and marvel at the history. Then, its on to historic St. Saviour's Episcopal Church, to get a private tour of it's collection of stunning Tiffany stained glass windows, and learn about their origins. We visit the quaint Village Green, and check out the shops in town on our way to the Bar Harbor Shore Path, Balance Rock, and Grant Park. We marvel at the beautiful fall foliage and breath in the crisp sea air along the way. The next stop on our "lobster crawl" is Side Street Cafe. We try their lobster quesadillas and clam chowder out on their cozy front porch. Our third lobster and chowder destination is right in the heart of town at The Thirsty Whale Tavern. We finish our lobster crawl right across from Agamont Park and the boat docks at Galyn's Restaurant. Back onboard the Getaway, we watch a beautiful sunset from the Waterfront Deck, and recap our day. In the evening we take in another amazing show at Syd Norman's Pour House, then a broadway musical show in the Getaway Theater.
