One of the most interesting aspects of my recent cruise on Viking's new expedition ship, Viking Octantus, was having the chance to talk to the Chairman and CEO of Viking Cruises, Torstein Hagen. Through an incredible stroke of luck, I ended up sitting next to him for a while at a cocktail party... And then the very next day, I ran in to him in one of the ship's lounges and he took the time to have a one-on-one conversation with me for about ten minutes. As a simple YouTuber, it was extraordinary for me to have such access to the Chairman and CEO of the cruise line. After I sat next to him at the cocktail party and had a chance to thank him for inviting me aboard (at Viking's expense) I realized that what I would rather be doing was getting some photos and videos of him. So, that's when I snapped the photo I'm using as the thumbnail for this video, and it's also when several Viking executives stood up and gave short speeches. I was so happy to have been recording it all when Torstein Hagen showed off his sense of humor! He just couldn't resist interrupting during a speech by Dr. Damon Stanwell-Smith (Head of Science and Sustainability for Viking) when Dr. Stanwell-Smith referred to him as "chair" instead of the chairman.
