A quick look around Venice before our trip to the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. We visit St Mark’s Square with its bell tower, the campanile, the Doge's Palace and the Rialto Bridge over the Grand Canal. A few weeks later we were 6000 miles away in the Venetian on the Las Vegas strip. The Venetian Hotel has its own version of the Rialto Bridge, an indoor version of St Mark’s Square with a painted on sky and of course, canals and gondoliers. Venice is much quieter in the mornings and in the evenings after all the cruise ship passengers are back on board their ships It is still quite romantic at night and you can wonder the narrow streets without the crowds. In contrast, Las Vegas isn’t the most romantic destination despite all the wedding chapels but it is definitely lots of fun.
