YouTube Video Description

On this Episode we are answering the Question, "when do I need a passport to take a cruise from Australia?" The Simple answer is: is it considered a domestic cruise or an international cruise? A domestic cruise is traveling to any destination within any Australian territory without going to another country? An example of this would be Sydney to Moreton Island or a short "cruise to nowhere" that leaves an Australian port. If this is the case a passport is not required and you only need another type of identification such as a driver's licence. But if you're traveling internationally to another country such as New Zealand or Noumea then you will need a passport. Another example of this is if your itinerary includes both Australian locations and international locations. For example you depart Sydney, go to Melbourne then go to New Zealand and back to Sydney you will need a passport. Obviously cruises that are international and one way such as "Transpacific" cruises are also international. Just a word of warning!!!! Most cruise lines follow these rules but there could be some. that may have different rules. Check with your cruise company to make sure, they're websites are a wealth of information While most cruise lines follow these rules there could be some that may not, check with your cruise line to make sure.
