Woodhead Railway Line Bike Ride to The Woodhead Tunnel
YouTube Video Description↓
The Woodhead Line was a railway connecting the major Northern English cities of Manchester and Sheffield. Crossing the Pennines, the moors that divide the cities, the line was electrified in the 1950's but most of the route closed in the early 1980's. In this video the Globeguys ride the route between Hadfield and the Woodhead Tunnels taking in the scenery and the remnants of the railway including those famous tunnels that stretch over three miles under the desolate moorland! Riding from Hadfield train station on bikes that we hired from Hadfield Bike Hire and rode along the very flat trail that is about 14 miles round trip.
