THE BIGGEST CRUISE NEWS UPDATES FROM THE CRUISE INDUSTRY THIS WEEK! With cruises restarting in many countries, how cruises will restart in the United States remains the biggest cruise news story. We have updates from the major cruise lines, as well as information from CDC and CLIA, and other stakeholders. There's even some optimistic news, as things are changing for cruise lines (for the better). In this video, we share major updates from Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, as well as Virgin Voyages, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Viking and Crystal. Carnival Cruises continues to wait (as far as we know) for a restart to cruising in the USA. We also have 1 cruise line that is selling cruises beginning in July 2021, from Florida, USA. Will this happen? Did this cruise line get approval from CDC and go through the Conditional Sailing Order requirements? This is an interesting piece of cruise news that I'm continuing to wonder about. Hanging over all of this good news for cruising, is the battle between the cruise lines and the CDC over the pathway to restarting cruising in the USA. Beyond the cruise lines, there is mounting pressure from local government officials, the cruise line association (CLIA), the American travel agent's association (ASTA), cruise port officials, cruise ship and industry workers, cruisers and now, mainstream media. Thank you to Martini from The Curious Lens of Martina from Argentina (found on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram) for permission to use her photos of the humanitarian efforts in St. Vincent. The La Soufriere volcano erupted in St. Vincent, leaving residents needing medical supplies, food, and transport to neighbouring islands. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Carnival Cruise ships were all close enough to be able to respond with help. Martina's photos show first hand what the cruise line's encountered and helped with in St. Vincent. Let's talk about what has to happen and the timeline which is needed for cruises to resume in the United States, from Florida cruise ports, Texas and more. Thanks for watching!
