I visit Mount Etna - an active volcano in Sicily and the largest volcano in Europe - while sailing the Mediterranean onboard the brand new Celebrity Beyond. Mount Etna had been erupting for a few weeks before my arrival. We only visited the lower crater, some 6,000 feet above sea level, but the views were stunning. After showing you one of the craters of Mount Etna I head down the mountain to a jewelry shop in Sicily before heading back to the port of Messina. I visited Mount Etna via a cruise shore excursion from the brand new cruise ship Celebrity Beyond, the newest cruise ship of Celebrity Cruises. Celebrity Beyond had her inaugural sailing in April 2022, followed by an inaugural season in the Mediterranean. Celebrity Beyond is captained by Captain Kate McCue and will be repositioned via a transatlantic in October 2022. The Celebrity Beyond will then be home-ported in Fort Lauderdale, where the new Celebrity Beyond will sail cruises to the Caribbean. This 9-day voyage on Celebrity Beyond visited Naples, Sicily, La Spezia, Santa Margherita, Nice, and Marseille.
