Cozumel Cruise Port Pier Tour at Puerta Maya (4K)
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
Tour at Puerta Maya, the cruise port of Cozumel for Carnival Cruises and its associate lines Princess & Holland America. It is a 10-15 minute walk from the pier to the port shops and taxi/excursions area. But you can hire a rickshaw to take you, which could be especially valuable during a hot day. The long Dufry Cozumel Seaport shop building has pretty much everything you want in a souvenir/gift/general store, though the prices were not th cheapest. Directly outside is the seaside Three Amigos Mexican Cantina bar/restaurant as well as Fat Tuesday and Ron Jon Surf Shop. There was a small beach nearby with plenty of chairs and palm trees acting as natural shades. Pretty relaxing to just sit there and enjoy watching the waves & the cruise ships, or other vacationers passing by. You can even get a message at the beach, or try out a "Fish Spa" (by Fish Space) where small fish called Garra Rufa Fish feasts on dead skin (aka exfoliation) on your feet. This fun Fish Feet Pedicure was 2 for $30 for 15 minutes so we tried it. It was pretty interesting. On Avenida Chichen Itza we saw shops such as Diamonds International, Mayan Fiesta, A Touch of Gold. There was also an Underwater "Oxygen Bar" called Clear Lounge, something we have never seen before. Other services we saw included Katu Mani-Pedicure Express. Shops included Rogers Boots, Pirana Joe, Cafe Punta del Cielo (seems to have free Internet access), Duty Free Tequileria, Colombian Emeralds and more. Pancho' Backyard seemed like a nice Mexican restaurant with live music. Some of other cruise ships we saw a Puerto Maya other than our own (HAL MS Eurodam) included the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, and the Carnival Dream. There was also an Alamo car rental office. We also saw a chart of the taxi rates from the Cozumel Puerta Maya port to various destinations such as downtown ($8), Dolphinaris ($8), Atlantis ($8), Discover Mexico ($8), Playa Uvas ($12), Tortugas Beach Club ($12), and Chankanaab ($12). We even saw an iguana who immediately attracted a lot of attention, lol. Overall this port was lots of fun and certainly merits an hour or two visit, especially considering the nice little beach area and so much shopping. This was from our December 2017 Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Holland America Eurodam.
