Tulum is located on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea along the Yucatan Peninsula in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. The Mayans have a civilization history of 3,000 years. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries towards the end of the Mayan period, Tulum is one of the last major ruins to have survived some 70 years after the Spanish began their occupation of Mexico. Today, it is one of the best-preserved coastal Mayan ruins and a popular attraction among tourists. This is truly a fascinating cultural and archaeological site! Playa del Carmen is a coastal resort town in Mexico, along the Yucatán Peninsula's Riviera Maya strip of Caribbean shoreline. In the state of Quintana Roo, it’s known for its palm-lined beaches and coral reefs. Its Quinta Avenida pedestrian thoroughfare runs parallel to the beach, with blocks of shops, restaurants and nightspots ranging from laid-back bars to dance clubs.It is particularly pleasant to walk through the streets and feel the local folk customs.
