A surprise visit to the South Downs Light Railway on Wednesday 21st December 2022. The railway was running the last day of its its 'SANTA SPECIALS' and would also be the final running day of the year, and one of the locomotives in use was the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway's SR rebuilt 'Merchant Navy'-class 4-6-2 No.35004 "Cunard White Star" which is back in working order again having been out of action since 2018. The Bulleid was running in on light-duties which involved pulling the decorative goods train alongside the double-headed passenger service which was worked by SDLR 'Exmoor' 0-4-2T Nos.319 "Pulborough" & 334 "Peggy" running unusually in cab-to-cab formation. This video features the sequence of both trains combined as they make a lap each of the circuit. Like - Comment - Subscribe Stay safe and have a good evening.
