This morning we woke up at 4 a.m. to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat. It was OK... To be completely honest, I think there are much better ways to spend your morning exploring the Angkor Temple complex. Sunrise at Angkor Wat is OVERRUN by tourist. Yes, we did contribute to the problem, but that's beside the point. When we showed up to Angkor Wat at 5 a.m. there were already TONS of people there. We weren't even able to get a seat on the far side of the pond. By the time the sun was rising, there were over 2,000 people watching the sunrise with us. The crowds were almost more impressive than the sunrise. Don't get me wrong, the sunrise over Angkor Wat is beautiful, but so is everything else at the Angkor Temple complex. I would suggest getting up super early one day an visiting other temples besides Angkor Wat at around 6 a.m.. You could have the amazing temples to yourself while everyone else is fighting at Angkor Wat to snap the best picture of the sunrise. Thanks for watching!
