HUGE CRUISE NEWS UPDATE - What Good Things Are Happening for Cruises. Updates Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, MSC, Disney. In this video we discuss the major cruise news that is showing very positive signals for the cruise industry in 2021 and beyond. We look at the first cruise ships to return to Florida from Carnival and Disney as part of the plan to return to cruising in the United States. Since there are so many cruise news stories around the world, we discuss each major update in this video. 1. Carnival Horizon has returned to Miami Cruise Port. The ship has crew on board and are going through the process of implementing changes to the cruise ship including upgrading the air filtration system, enhancing the cruise ship medical facilities, and making physical changes to the ship's public areas including lounges to accommodate social distancing. These are all part of the new protocols for safe cruising in 2021. 2. Disney Cruise Line has returned to Port Canaveral with the Disney Wonder. More Disney ships will be back to the US early in December. While Disney cruise ships have been suspended through January, and Disney Fantasy until February 6, they are working and preparing for a safe start up for cruises when they have approval from CDC. 3. Royal Caribbean Updates In major exciting news for Royal Caribbean, new cruise ship Odyssey of the Seas has been floated out, and construction continues and is on track. Now the shipyard is doing outside work to the cruise ship, including installing the North Star, a major attraction for the RC cruise ship. In more news for Royal Caribbean, The Quantum of the Seas is preparing to sail in Singapore on December 1. While these are 3 and 4 night cruises to nowhere, they will be packed with fun and entertainment. Crew members are working hard and entertainment staff (dancers & singers) are rehearsing for the amazing shows! Royal Caribbean health and safety protocols can be found in the videos below. This will be Royal Caribbean's FIRST cruise since the cruise shut down. 4. MSC has the approval to cruise in Japan. This is a major good cruise news event, as this whole situation in some ways, began in Japan with Diamond Princess. The cruise industry unfortunately became closely intertwined in this world health situation. MSC has cruises successfully and safely they point out, with over 30,000 cruise passengers in Europe since August 2020. 5. In more good cruise news, the islands and cruise ports are showing confidence in the return of cruising and the future for travel in 2021 and beyond. Cozumel cruise port is expanding it's cruise port and adding a 4th cruise terminal. 6. The future of cruising in the UK is looking better! The port of Southhampton is getting a 5th new cruise terminal, which will be using Green Technology. This is partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line and MSC, as well as the UK goverment through a grant. The cost is about 75 Million US dollars. While this doesn't mean that we are cruising tomorrow, for those that are worried about cruise lines and the cruise industry, we have to remember how resilient it is. NCL and Carnival raised more funds to continue longer on a pause if need be. Major cruise lines have invested funds and are bringing crew back and implementing changes for safety and health, and in time, we will see more cruises around the world sail again.
