Finding hotels for pre or post cruise travel is always important, so I'm hoping that this hotel review helps you make decisions if you are cruising out of Long Beach / The Port of Los Angeles / San Pedro. We chose this hotel property for our stay the night before our cruise on Royal Caribbean and it was very close and convenient. I'm a huge Hilton fan, that being said - I think my expectations for Hilton properties are high. This hotel was a bit of a disappointment, however - I do think it's still one of the best options for your pre-cruise hotel. After our cruise, we hoped over to Hotel Maya which is by the other cruise port in the area, and I would definitely choose that property over this one, given a choice. However, this one works great pre-cruise because it's so close. The area is lovely, the hotel itself just needs some TLC. Like, a lot of TLC. You work hard for your money (I do too) and I feel like it's always good to know what you are getting into. About the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Pedro - Port of Los Angeles (their words) Find us near Cabrillo Marina, two miles from the beach. Cabrillo Yacht Club, home to LA Fleet Week and SailGP, and the Los Angeles Yacht Club are under a mile. Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach are within eight miles. We offer marina views, outdoor pool, hot tub, free shuttle to the World Cruise Terminal, and a warm DoubleTree Cookie upon arrival. OUR review of the DoubleTree by Hilton San Pedro isn't the best. We didn't get a warm cookie (we barely got a greeting, to be honest) We didn't have access to a free shuttle (that might have been circumstantial) I really really wish I could say more good things about this property but the reality is, it's a decent place to stay, but don't set your expectations too high. Again, I want to stress: the staff is great, but the property itself just seems really dated and worn. As you know, I LOVE to travel and we share so many hotel room and property tours, along with cruise ship videos, entertainment, and more. Who do I book my travels through?
