Marvellous Messina: MSC Armonia - The Bolivian Incident (part 5)

We were unfortunate enough to board the MSC Armonia on the day the incident with the 69 Bolivian Passengers occured. These passengers had been able to board the ship in Brasil without the correct immigration paperwork. This resulted in the ship being impounded by Spanish Authorities in Barcelona. Like many other passengers we boarded the ship oblivious to this problem. Our daily VLOGS capture what this meant for our holiday experience and our frustrations as the incident unfolded and MSC effectively wiped out our holiday plans for the ports were were to visit. We booked this holiday for a cheap price and had low expectations of MSC - In our VLOGS you'll see if MSC met those expectations. In this 5th VLOG we made the most of the only port stop that was eventually permitted on this cruise. Messina in Sicily is often used as a launchpad for accessing Mt Etna or the ancient ruins at Taormina. However we decided to explore this sleepy city. We discovered its wealth of medeival churches, marble fountains and impressive architecture as well as the brilliant astronomical clock. Its a sleepy place that also provides very pleasant shopping. We enjoyed its streets and its treats.
