--~-- My Journey With Prostate Cancer Week 5. Technically Week 5 doesn't end until Friday but with the significance of yesterday's news, I felt compelled to report now. I met with Dr Emily Jenkins, my oncologist, got my Lupron injection (part or hormone therapy) plus got a report on my biopsy. The news was not good. I have a very aggressive form of cancer that has spread. Because of that spread, my only realistic option is to treat it aggressively and start chemo at once. My first treatment will be December 14. I will have chemo every three weeks for approximately 5 months. Unfortunately, at the end, I will not be cancer free, but that hopefully it will be manageable.
