Creator's Key Takeaways
We spent 11 days onboard the Norwegian Prima sailing through Northern Europe
We described the overall experience as fine. Some things were great, a few things felt a little oversold
The go-kart track takes up so much space on the top decks that it severely limits where you can actually enjoy views or spread out
Specialty dining on Prima is strong. Kanges is always a solid steakhouse

Or just curious what the hype’s about with Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest class of ships? We spent 11 days onboard the Norwegian Prima sailing through Northern Europe—including ports in Norway, Iceland, Amsterdam, and Zeebrugge—and we’ve got thoughts. A lot of them. This is not your typical cruise ship review. In this video, we take you on a brutally honest, deck-by-deck walkthrough of the Norwegian Prima. You’ll see real footage from our time onboard, hear our take on the food (buffet vs dining room vs specialty), the bars, entertainment, cabins, outdoor spaces, spa, shopping, and yes, even the dreaded mini-golf surcharge. We stayed in an interior cabin, explored every lounge and restaurant, and did our best to experience the ship the way real guests do. Spoiler: we liked some things a lot. Others? Not so much. If you’re looking for a sugar-coated sales pitch, this isn’t that video. But if you want practical cruise advice, real impressions, a little sarcasm, and more information than you probably need… you’re in the right place. Here’s what we cover: – Interior cabin tour and review – Dining: from the surprisingly solid buffet to the “meh” main dining rooms and tech-forward but flawed Indulge Food Hall – Specialty restaurants: what’s worth paying extra for (and what’s not) – All the bars onboard, from Penrose to Metropolitan to that one by the pool that was always closed when we needed it – Activities: go-karts, slides, darts, VR simulators, mini golf (and how they’re monetized) – Outdoor spaces, and why they were mostly unusable in cold weather – Pools and hot tubs (yes, the infinity ones look good in photos—but they’re tiny) – The Stadium, The Observation Lounge, The Atrium, and all the public spaces where you’ll be fighting for a seat – Entertainment (Bossa Nova Beat = great, Price is Right = daytime TV at sea) – The casino, that coin pusher machine, and why I should know better by now – Spa and gym highlights (spoiler: the spa is lovely, if you’re willing to pay) – Onboard shopping options, including pre-owned Gucci and those cruise-standard “75% off everything!” tables – Stand-up comedy, karaoke, trivia, and the world’s most chaotic hotel lobby (a.k.a. the Atrium) Planning your own Norwegian Prima cruise? Here are a few tips upfront: If you want genuinely great food, book the specialty dining ahead of time. It’s the only way. Don’t expect to use the pools or outdoor spaces much if you're sailing anywhere chilly—those “wow” features are mostly decorative in cold weather. Bring your patience. For everything. And if you want to get into Syd Norman’s Pour House? Line up 90 minutes early or enjoy the hallway view like we did. This was our first time on a Prima-class ship, and while we didn’t love everything, we definitely learned a lot. Would we sail Prima again? You’ll have to watch to find out.
