Creator's Key Takeaways

I have to admit, after a week on this ship, it quickly became one of my favorite ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet.

I actually love the way this ship was laid out. We uh enjoyed the pool deck.

The Selex, I just have to say, is awesome. We spent a lot of time in here. We had a ball in here.

Playmakers again, 10 out of 10. The view from this Playmakers was amazing.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Get up early to secure loungers on crowded days.
Book the Tanyaki restaurant for an early time to enjoy the view.
If the pool deck gets too crowded, head to the Solarium or upper deck.
Reserve cabanas early if you want one, as they get taken quickly.

Odyssey of the Seas pool deck & SportsPlex tour (Decks 14, 15 & 16) Join Matt Minotti of Minotti Travel Club as we explore Odyssey of the Seas’ pool decks and SeaPlex. If you’re planning a Royal Caribbean Odyssey of the Seas family cruise, the top decks are where the “sun-and-fun” energy lives. The Caribbean-inspired pool deck spans two decks with two open-air pools, tons of loungers, and easy access to quick bites and tropical cocktails. Deck 14: Main pool deck = sunshine central Deck 14 is the action hub for classic cruise-day vibes: swimming, sunbathing, and constant snack-and-sip pit stops. What to do on Deck 14 • Two open-air pools and plenty of spots to lounge (including in-pool loungers and shaded nooks). • Splashaway Bay kids aqua park with water play features like slides and water cannons—perfect for families with younger kids. Food on Deck 14 • El Loco Fresh (poolside Mexican grab-and-go): think made-to-order tacos, burritos, quesadillas, plus a toppings/salsa station—ideal for quick lunches between pool dips. Bars on Deck 14 • The Lime & Coconut (lower level): Royal Caribbean’s signature pool bar brings fresh cocktails, live music, and plenty of seating with ocean views. Bonus “escape hatch” nearby • The Solarium (adults-only retreat) is also up here as part of a two-deck complex, with a pool, whirlpools, and a more chill vibe. Deck 15: Upper pool deck = more views, more lounging Deck 15 is like the “balcony level” of the pool scene—great for families who want to stay close to the action but feel slightly more spread out. What to do on Deck 15 • Running track looping around the pool area (great for sunrise walks, but it can get busy on sea days). • More prime real estate for lounging and people-watching while your crew rotates between pool, kids’ splash zone, and snack runs (the pool deck spans two decks). Bars on Deck 15 • The Lime & Coconut (upper level) keeps the party going on both decks—so you’re never far from a frozen drink or mocktail. Deck 16: Thrills + SportsPlex vibes (SeaPlex and beyond) Deck 16 is where Odyssey turns into a floating activity park—awesome for families with tweens/teens (and competitive adults). SportsPlex / SeaPlex activities (Deck 16) • SeaPlex: basketball, roller skating, and bumper cars—the kind of place where your day can turn into an all-out family tournament. • Glow-in-the-dark laser tag is also featured as a SeaPlex-style highlight on Odyssey. More top-deck “wow” experiences (Deck 16) • FlowRider surf simulator: a 40-foot surf setup with stadium-style viewing for cheering on wipeouts and victories. • RipCord by iFLY: skydiving-style simulator for that “I can’t believe I did that on a cruise ship” moment. • North Star: the glass observation capsule that rises high above sea level for 360° views—perfect for sailaway photos.
