Port Of Miami Sailaway - Featuring Allure Of The Seas
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
A time-lapse view from the bow of Norwegian Getaway, as we sailed out of the Port Of Miami on December 9, 2018. You can't actually see the Norwegian Getaway in this video, but you have a pretty good view of Royal Caribbean's "Allure Of The Seas" departing terminal A and heading out to sea. This video shows events at 10 times the speed in which they actually happened in real life. It was shot handheld with a GoPro Hero 7 Black camera, using the "time warp" feature built in to the camera. At the beginning of the video you can see Allure Of The Seas use her starboard side thrusters to push away from the dock. Once she is in the middle of the channel, the thrusters go off and the main propellers are engaged to move the ship forward. If you watch on a big screen and look very carefully in the water at the :50 mark, you can briefly see a dolphin swimming from left to right. As we head out to sea, you can see the navigational markers in the channel which the cruise ships must stay in between in order to be in water deep enough for a big ship like that. A flashing white light shows the point at which the ship must turn to the left to stay in the proper deep water channel.
