On 19th November 1919, CUNARD relocated its express passenger service to New York from Liverpool to Southampton with the RMS "Mauretania" becoming the first ship to make the transatlantic voyage. 100 years later and it's the turn of the current day flagship "Queen Mary 2" to make the crossing. She departed just before 18:30pm from the Ocean Cruise Terminal in Southampton to head for New York. Viewed from the Town Quay.
