YouTube Video Description↓
It was another busy day in the Port of Southampton on the 13th of October 2017 seeing the departures of Cunard's 'Queen Mary 2', Royal Caribbean's 'Navigator of The Seas' & P&O'S Cruise Ship the 'Britannia', the day was rather cloudy and a bit of a breezy wind watching these ships all making their departures. The first departure was 'Queen Mary 2' from the Queen Elizabeth ll Cruise Terminal at about 17:15pm she was 15 minutes late in her departure, for a 14 Night Roundtrip Transatlantic Crossing (M738/8A) to New York. As she departed she blew some separate notes first starting at a high pitch then gradually got deeper then played them all together & after that you then hear 'Britannia' blasting her horn 3 times in reply to 'Queen Mary 2'. Next to depart was the 'Navigator of The Seas' from the City Cruise Terminal at 17:29pm she was about 59 minutes late in her departure, for a 9 Night Northern European Coastal Cruise, her first port of call is Cherbourg in France. Then finally it was the 'Britannia' to depart from the Ocean Cruise Terminal at about 18:05pm only 5 minutes late for a 14 Night Spain, France & Italy Cruise & her first port of call is Cartagena in Spain. This video was filmed from the Town Quay which is a great viewpoint to watch ships arrive & depart from Southampton Docks.
