Join us on our bucket list cruise vacation as we explore Reykjavík, Iceland, the final port on our 14-night Norway & Iceland cruise onboard the Sky Princess by Princess Cruises! 🇮🇸🚢 We started our day early, hopping on a free shuttle bus from the port to the Harpa Bus Stop #5, where many tours and excursions begin. Our destination? The world-famous Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland’s most iconic attractions! This stunning geothermal spa isn’t a natural lagoon but rather formed from runoff water used to generate geothermal energy. The mineral-rich, milky-blue waters are heated naturally by the Earth and are known for their skin-rejuvenating benefits. We soaked for hours, enjoyed drinks, and had some snacks while surrounded by other travelers on their Iceland cruise vacation. After our relaxing Blue Lagoon experience, we returned to Reykjavík and explored the beautiful capital city on foot. From cozy cafés and unique shops to the quirky Icelandic Phallological Museum (yes, it’s a thing!), we soaked up the local culture despite the on-and-off rain showers throughout the day. We also dined at Iceland’s first Italian restaurant, which was delicious — though, fair warning, food in Iceland can be pricey! We wrapped up our final port day by attending the Captain’s Event back onboard the Sky Princess, complete with free drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and a wonderful send-off before three relaxing sea days on our way back to Southampton, England.
