https://www.retirementtravelers.com Our next retirement travel stop was the beautiful San Juan Islands, Washington as we find more exciting things to do in retirement. A retired Alcoa friend took us crabbing and shrimping near San Juan Island, Washington, after a morning of clam digging near Bellingham, Washington. Shrimping and crabbing were such fun activities if you are looking for San Juan Islands things to do. The raw beauty of these 97 islands is breathtaking. We rode in the boat for hours through the sparsely populated, forested and hilly San Juan Islands. Our friend dropped us off at Matia Island State Park for a wonderful one hour hike of solitude and beauty. Having an island all to yourself is a great experience. Washington State and the entire Pacific Northwest have been wonderful to visit this summer. We ended up catching 15 Dungeness crabs, about 50 shrimp, and enough clams for a great appetizer. We canโt thank our friend Barry enough for his kind hospitality and generosity of spending a full day touring the San Juan Islands with us. Thanks Barry. Consider subscribing to our Retirement Travelers channel for more ideas on what to do in retirement as we plan to travel the world for the next 10 years as travel vloggers. Check in next week as we take a train ride and visit some glaciers on our trip to the 49th state, Alaska. #retirementtravelers #sanjuanislands #travelvlogger #retirementtravel #worldtravel #retirementearly #travelvloggers #thisisourretirement #sanjuanislands #washingtonstate #pnw Get a pair of ALLBIRDS, our absolute favorite travel shoes. โClick my link for a free pair of socks with your purchase of shoes or apparel. But, that is what we did! We work hard every day to become better and create something that others will enjoy. Having a community of friends, old and new, follow our journey is fun and exciting to us. In 2019, we achieved our goal of visiting every state in the union in our Airstream. We also visited every national park in the lower 48. We are big believers in lists, so of course we plan to see the remaining 12 parks in the next few years. In 2021, we made the big decision to extreme downsize to just a suitcase and a small backpack, each. We started our journey around the world beginning in Central America. We hope that over the next ten years, we will have seen many beautiful things, made many memories and new friends, and shared the experience with our children and grandchildren. We hope you enjoy the journey with us. Drop us a note in the comments and be sure to hit subscribe! ๐บ ๐ฅ ๐ฎ
