Ship fire disrupts Cruise Ships in Southampton Docks - 25/05/2018

A busy afternoon in Southampton Docks on Friday 25th April 2018. Normal departure proceedings were slightly hampered for some ships due to a fire aboard a cargo ship up at the old King George V drydock forcing one ship to reverse down to the Middle Swinging Ground and in term delaying two others. The ships departed in the following order... - "Queen Victoria" (CUNARD) from the Queen Elizabeth II Cruise Terminal at 16:29 heading off on a 7-night cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. - "Ventura" (P&O Cruises) from the Mayflower Cruise Terminal at 17:11 heading off on a 2-night mini-cruise to Zeebrugge. It was she who needed to reverse down to the Middle Swinging Ground to turn before sailing down Southampton Water. - "Norwegian Jade" (Norwegian Cruise Lines) from the City Cruise Terminal at 17:50 heading off on a 14-night cruise to the UK, Norway and Iceland. - "Royal Princess" (Princess Cruises) from the Ocean Cruise Terminal at 18:03 heading off on a 12-night cruise around the British Isles.
