Built in 1992 as Royal Viking Line's ROYAL VIKING QUEEN, Windstar Cruises STAR LEGEND measures 12,995 gross tons and carries 308 passengers. Originally intended as the third ship for Signet, later Seabourn cruises, this little beauty also sailed as Royal Cruise Line's QUEEN ODYSSEY before finally joining the Seabourn fleet as the SEABOURN LEGEND in 1996. The LEGEND had a rather auspicious start to her Seabourn career, having been the featured ship in "Speed 2", the humongous box office flop sequel to "Speed". In 2015, all three Seabourn ships were purchased by Windstar Cruises and in 2021, they were "stretched" in Palermo with the addition of an 84 foot midsection, new engines and completely refurbished public spaces and accommodations. In addition to the history of this little beauty, Peter Knego takes the viewer on a top-to-bottom tour of the deck areas, passenger spaces and all categories of accommodation.
