Well, hello. Here we are on the aft end of the Queen Mary 2 in the North Atlantic Ocean and she's handling it very well.
She just eats it for breakfast.
That was a big one. Hey, we got it.

About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Descriptionβ
Witness the raw power of the North Atlantic. What starts as a typical crossing quickly escalates as the weather turns, culminating in an unforgettable Force 12 hurricane. Watch as the giant Queen Mary 2 earns her reputation, ploughing through massive swells that would force other ships to seek shelter. Built with 40% more steel than a standard cruise ship and a reinforced deep-sea hull, this is exactly what she was designed to do. We'll see the bow slicing through the waves and feel the sheer scale of the ocean's fury as the winds reach hurricane strength. β π Buy my books: https://www.frameandcross.com/books π Buy cruise merch: https://themaritimehistorian.teemill.com/ π³οΈ My Maritime History Substack: https://themaritimehistorian.substack.com/ β π₯ OUR EQUIPMENT: Camera - DJI Mimo Pocket 2: https://amzn.to/3XjXwQn Vlogging Mic: DJI Mic: https://amzn.to/3D3idJP Lav Mic: DJI Lavalier Mic: https://amzn.to/4klRgBA Voice Over Mic: Audio Technica: https://amzn.to/4ij8myg These are affiliate links meaning we may receive a small commission from any sales. πΊοΈ CUSTOM CRUISE MAP: Made using AIS (satellite ship-tracking) data, The Cruise Maps show the exact route. About: Queen Mary 2 encounters heavy seas, stormy weather and Hurricane Force 12 winds during a transatlantic crossing. A Force 12 storm hit Cunardβs Queen Mary 2 during her November transatlantic crossing. Cunard's QM2 is built to handle rough seas. But the ship was hit by 9 metre seas and heavy hurricane Force 12 winds on the second last night of the crossing, on the way to New York! Huge waves crashed over the Queen Mary 2βs massive bow which I caught on camera from the ship's Commodore Club. During the night, in QM2βs restaurants, furniture fell over due to the movement of the ship, and there was loud howling noises on Deck 7 as the heavy winds hit the ship's boat deck. Queen Mary 2 was built in 2004 and was the first ocean liner built in a generation. The QM2 is strong - designed to withstand the rough seas and heavy winds of the transatlantic crossing. In this video, you can check out how Queen Mary 2 handled a North Atlantic Storm with Hurricane Force winds. The video is part of my QM2 Cunard Southampton Centenary Transatlantic Crossing vlog, and also shows a gala dinner, nightlife in the Queens Room and scenes from on deck as well as a late night walk around the empty QM2 (everyone was asleep) as the hurricane force winds hit against the ship.
