🌴 There are not many places that have got under my skin like Key West! I mean I love travel and new adventures, but Key West is one of those places I genuinely didn’t want to get back on the ship. If I go again, I definitely want it to be for longer! It has a vibe like nowhere else I’ve experienced, colourful, relaxed and full of character. It also has a real heart and soul. Some places are just special. If you’re visiting on a cruise stop, here are some easy tips to make the most of your time in Key West: 🌟 Walk straight into town. The cruise port is right in the centre, so you can explore most places on foot without needing transport. 🚌 Use the free Duval Loop bus. This handy shuttle stops at many of the main attractions if you want to see more without too much walking. 📍 Visit the Southernmost Point buoy. One of the most famous photo spots in Key West. Expect a short queue, but it’s worth it! 🏝️ Relax at the beach bar near the Southernmost Point. Stop for a drink and soak up the laid back island vibes after your photo. ☕ Stop at the Southernmost Café. Right by the water near the buoy, it’s a lovely place to grab a drink or bite to eat with ocean views. 🏡 Visit Hemingway’s House. The former home of writer Ernest Hemingway is one of Key West’s most famous attractions. Wander through the gardens and look out for the famous six-toed cats that live there. 🎭 Stop by Mallory Square. A lively waterfront area with shops, street performers and great views. 🍹 Walk along Duval Street. The heart of Key West, full of colourful buildings, shops and restaurants. 🥧 Try Key Lime Pie. It’s the island’s most famous dessert and a must while you’re here. 🐓 Watch out for the roaming chickens. They wander freely around the island and are part of the local charm. Key West is one of the easiest cruise ports to explore independently, making it perfect for a relaxed day off the ship.
