If you're planning a Trieste city break, this video is your perfect guide! We had been considering visiting Trieste for a while and decided to visit for a short city break. It's one of Italy's gems and is now a very popular tourist destination, especially for cruise passengers. Many cruise ships now leave from Trieste cruise port and it's one of the most popular ports of call in the Adriatic. There are lots of great things to do in Trieste. We stayed in the centre of the city where all the main tourist sights were in walking distance. We'll show you the San Giusto Castle, the ancient Roman ruins and the incredible Piazza Unità d'Italia, the largest seafront square in Europe. The city centre is beautiful and the cruise port is right at Unity Square! Our absolute highlight was the amazing Miramare Castle, a short trip from Trieste, which was built by the Hapsburgs. It's one of the most beautiful royal palaces we've been to. We really enjoyed our Trieste city break. The food is delicious and it's one of our favourite places to visit in Italy.
