We are onboard Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady docking in Mexico. Rosie and Karl grab a big breakfast before heading into the port of Costa Maya. There are shops, a pool bar and...more shops. Not entirely charmed by the port, they head south to the town of Mahahual. Here there are plenty of beach bars, including the famous The Krazy Lobster, but they choose to skip past the main drag and find their own little slice of paradise. Back on board the Scarlet Lady, they enjoy some delicious Italian food at Extra Virgin. Mind you, this was their least favourite restaurant, so what are the scores going to look like? Antipasto - Starters; - Affettati Misti (Chef's Selection) - pistachio mortadella, prosciutto, salame Napoli, gorgonzola, 24-month aged Parmesan, pecorino Romano with eggplant caponata, pear mostarda and wildflower honey with rosemary spiced nuts. - Beef Carpaccio - chanterelles, sunchokes and truffle dressing. - Crispy Artichoke - caper aioli and charred lemon. - Semolina Fried Calamari - lemon and chili dip. - Smoked Chicken Liver Mousse - grilled ciabatta and balsamic agrodolce. Pasta; - Bucatini Alla Carbonara - egg yolk, pecorino Romano, black pepper and pancetta. - Gemelli Al Nero Seafood Pasta - mussels, shrimp, chili and sea urchin sauce. - Spaghetti Alle Vongole - little neck clams, white wine and crushed red pepper. Dolci - Desert; - Gianduiotto gelato with espresso - Whiskey crema gelato Last thing, they head into The Red Room for Dual Reality. This Romeo and Juliet story is told using some very cool circus skills in collaboration with The 7 Fingers. Don't worry, this isn't full of spoilers, but it does contain one of the coolest moments.
