It was quite busy today here in Southampton with four passenger cruise ships all departing at various times through the day. First to depart was 'Vision of The Seas', which is a rare visitor she had arrived from Cherbourg early in the morning and was berthed at the City Cruise Terminal. She was just over half an hour late in departing as the bunkering ship 'LS Christine' was late in finishing bunkers. 'Vision of The Seas' departed at about 13:35pm and her destination was Cadiz. Next to depart from the Mayflower Cruise Terminal was 'MSC Opera' a regular visitor throughout this summer, she had arrived early morning from Le Havre and departed again at about 15:55pm and her next destination is Ijmuiden. The third ship to depart later in the evening was a first visit of 'AIDA sol' she arrived early morning and departed late at 19:50pm by nearly an hour, her next port of call is Zeebrugge. Finally it was the turn of 'Mein Schiff 1' and had arrived early morning from Le Havre and departed again from the Queen Elizabeth ll Cruise Terminal at 19:57pm and off to La Corunna next "Mein Schiff 1" and "AIDA sol" both saluted each other on departure and I believe on the stern of AIDA sol was heard the sound of bagpipes being played
