The simple answer is that there isn't much communication between the CDC and the cruise lines. Due to the crickets, CLIA made the decision to push back cruising in order to get a better dialogue going to ensure that cruising returns sooner rather than later. That may sound strange to push back cruising to get it to return, but the reality is the cruise lines didn't want to be two weeks away from August departures and have the rug pulled out from under them by the CDC. It is our sincere hope that between now and September 16 the CDC can pull their head out of the sand and actually do their job to provide a safe path back to cruising for the whole industry.
