Unfortunately, this week has brought us mostly bad cruise news, with more Carnival cancellations and what looks like a delay or setback for Norwegian Cruise Line. Can this be an indication of things to come for other major cruise lines? While the latest cruise news has been worrying, there has been some good news that bodes well for the future of cruising at least. Carnival Cruise Lines has broken ground at PortMiami for a new cruise terminal for the newest Carnival Cruise Ship which will be ready in 2022. This is great news for Miami, the cruise capital of the world! In other good news, Azamara has indeed purchased the Pacific Princess from Princess Cruise Lines. They will now have 4 R Class ships in the Azamara Fleet. They also have a new Executive Chairman, Orlando Ashford, formerly of Holland America. New travel restrictions in Canada are causing even more concern for Alaska cruises as well as Canada/New England cruises. The strict travel protocols will not affect your cruise at this point, due to the fact that these restrictions are in place until the end of April. However, it is possible that they can be extended, which Canada has done in the past with other travel restrictions, including the cruise ban.
