http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com The last food tour stop in Odessa was at Boulevard Restaurant, right at the top of the Potemkin steps. Steve, Olga and I sat outside at this popular restaurant that tries to recreate Odessa in the Nineteen Century, watched the crowds of tourists and waited for dessert. I could easily survive on appetizers, dessert and wine for the rest of my life... A humungous slice of what is referred to as "Bird's Milk and/or Bird's Nest" (resembled an Ice Cream Cake) was set before us; a soufflรฉ in the middle that had a marshmallow taste, cake on the bottom and lashings of chocolate on the top. This, immediately became Steve's, the "chocoholic," favorite. Mine was the Syrniki. A small cake with curd cheese inside. More than filled to the brim from all the food, we thanked Olga for a wonderful day in Odessa and returned to the Viking Lomonosov for one last night in Ukraine.
