Akureyri, Iceland - Our Day in Port

Having been warned that Blue Lagoon can get crowded, we opted for a cruise excursion to Myvatn Nature Baths as an alternative. This was quite a trip and the baths are a good 80 mins by bus. This gave time to take in the magical volcanic landscapes and mountain passes. The baths themselves were wonderful. All we wanted from the trip. Not too crowded and the facilities and restaurant are awesome. Be warned it is law in Iceland to shower naked before putting on your swimming costume and entering these bath. The bus back stopped at Godafoss waterfall which was breathtaking. This excursion took up most of the day in port but we had just enough time to explore the shopping areas and main parts of the town. Left feeling we really ought to go back to do more exploring of this beautiful area.
