Bimini Beach Club, Bahamas: Ride Between Pier and Club (4K)

Cruise lines have started to create their own ports to give their guests a relaxing beach day, over the years this has changed from a treat to an expectation. As Virgin Voyages set to sail with their own brand new line they didn't want to be left out of the private resort group either. With smaller ships and no fleet to sustain a resort they've opted away from taking over an entire island and instead went more intentional with the development of a Beach Club on the island of Bimini in the Bahamas. With only one ship setting sailing per year to start Virgin Voyages couldn't fully utilize a venue on their own so instead they teamed up with Resorts World who operates a resort on Bimini to develop a beach area that they owned into The Beach Club. On days that Virgin Voyages ship is in port they get priority access to the port with exclusive use on those days. With Scarlet Lady that amount to 1-2 times per week, but once Valiant Lady with her 6/8 night rotation and Resilient Lady with her 7 night sailings begin the resort will be in use by Virgin Voyages 3-4 days a week. One the remaining days while it's open for the Resorts World guests, it is also sometimes used as a day excursion for guests visiting on various cruise ships that may opt for a port of call stop at the island. When Virgin Voyages operates the Beach Club everything is done by the crew from the visiting ship. The team at Resorts World use their golf carts and shuttle trams to transport guests but the team from the ship are responsible for operating all the bars and dining venues in the resort. All the food and drinks are brought from the ship as well, and even the towels are supplied from Virgin Voyages for guests to use. The ride from the pier to the Beach Club is about 6 minutes long. A tram runs continuously offering easy transportation back to the ship if you need to make a quick return. In addition to the main tram golf carts run continuously ensuring you rarely have to wait more than a minute or two for a ride between the pier and beach club.
