We sailed to Alaska on Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Spirit. While we always recommend a balcony cabin when sailing Alaska so you don't miss the wildlife, we decided to book this interesting looking room as we've always been curious about interior rooms on the exterior of the ship! Stateroom 6101 is an Ambulatory Accessible Cabin (ACC). This means it is LARGE as you'll quickly see in the tour! Carnival defines Ambulatory Accessible as staterooms "designed for use by guests with mobility disabilities who: - Do not require the regular use of a wheelchair, scooter, or other similar assistive devices - Device must be 21" or less and stored in the guest's cabin - Only uses an assistive device (such as a cane or walker) for traversing longer distances - May benefit from certain accessible features, such as grab bars to assist with balance - The entry doorway measures approximately 22 inches (therefore mobile device must be 21” or less), an 8 inch lip into the cabin bathroom, a 4 inch lip into the shower stall and for cabins with balconies, a 7 inch lip to the balcony." While that's Carnival's official definition, you'll see in the tour that the last bullet doesn't apply to this stateroom as the bathroom is fully accessible. If you require an Ambulatory Accessible Cabin and don't mind staying in an interior stateroom, this might be a great cabin for you! We enjoyed the large layout this cabin featured and had plenty of room to walk around and store our belongings. Cabin 6101 is considered an inside cabin even though it sits on the outside edge of the ship. It does not have any windows or balcony, however there were times when we would hear banging noises coming from the exterior wall and forward wall of the cabin. We also heard loud noises coming from the cabin located directly above us which is identified as a Fully Accessible Cabin on the deck plans. This design appears to be consistent with the other Carnival Spirit-class ships (Carnival Miracle, Carnival Pride, and Carnival Legend). We like to check out different cabin types on cruise ships so we can share our experiences and answer all of your questions! If you have any questions about our experience in this cabin - or any others on board - please drop us a note in the comments. Thanks for watching; we look forward to sharing more details from the Carnival Spirit in the near future! -Mark and Rocky #carnivalcruise #carnivalspirit #spiritclass #cruise #travel #roomtour #stateroom Follow us: Twitter: https://twitter.com/thiscruiselife Instagram: https://instagram.com/thiscruiselife Facebook: https://facebook.com/thiscruiselife Website: https://thiscruiselife.com
