Date Filmed: July 31, 2021 Hello Happy Travelers! Let’s Party On The Mardi! Welcome to Carnival’s newest ship, Mardi Gras! Mardi Gras’ first sailing was from Port Canaveral on July 31st, 2021 and we were on this sailing to bring you all the new content! Mardi Gras is the first of it's kind, bringing new innovation to both Carnival Cruise Line and the Cruise Industry as a whole! Mardi Gras is Carnival's first mega ship and now the largest in their fleet! It features six uniquely themed zones that will house an array of new restaurants, entertainment, lounges, and activities! Mardi Gras also is honored with the title of the first LNG ship in North America! Today is day one…BOARDING DAY! This is the first cruise ship (standard revenue sailing) to depart from Port Canaveral since the closure! The process inside Terminal 3 was very simple. We were asked to wear masks inside the terminal, waited about 20 minutes to show our documents and go through security, did a quick face recognition scan, and then we were onboard! We had fun exploring our new interior square Havana room! We also had a blast at the Sail Away Party on the Lido deck with the Flying Scotsman (Cruise Director extraordinaire Chris Williams)! Our actual sail away was very special too, with patrons of Jetty Park lined up to wave and send us off! We had a delicious dinner at Guy Fieri’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse & Brewhouse with friends! And of course, we scoped out some night aesthetic! We hope you enjoyed this first day, and that we see you back tomorrow for more fun!
