Date Filmed: June 23, 2021 Hello Happy Travelers! Let’s Party On The Mardi! Welcome to our Mardi Gras Palooza Week! This week we are providing daily content to get excited for the upcoming inaugural sailing of Carnival’s newest ship, Mardi Gras. In today’s video, we are breaking down the preparations required for this sailing and protocols we can expect onboard! The COVID-19 preparations and onboard changes will vary greatly based on whether the guest is vaccinated or unvaccinated! This sailing is a 95% vaccinated cruise, so the majority of passengers will be vaccinated. For vaccinated guests, there are very few major changes. Testing is not required, and masks are only needed in the cruise terminal, as well as port of calls. For unvaccinated guests, the situation is much more tricky. Unvaccinated guests will be required to under go an exemption and application process, which will decide if you will be chosen to cruise. If you are eligible to cruise, you will then have to undergo several COVID-19 tests (both PCR and Rapid Antigen tests), as well as wear masks in certain areas. Unvaccinated guests will also be limited in port excursions and freedom to roam freely off the ship. There are also changes and restrictions with the kids clubs onboard. Buffets will be operating normally and will be self serve! We hope you find this information helpful, and we also hope you’ll join us for the next two weeks, as every single day will have something fun in store!
