Carnival Pride is stuck at sea with some kind of mechanical failure in the Baltic Sea. from John Heald Dear Carnival Pride Guest: We have an urgent message about your upcoming cruise. Carnival Pride is experiencing a technical issue and is making an unplanned stop in Kiel, Germany today so that we can board expert technicians. While we are working to make the repair and get the ship back to Dover as quickly as possible, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 9-day cruise that is scheduled to depart from Dover on Friday as planned. We know you have been looking forward to your summer cruise and are very sorry to share this unexpected, last-minute news. Please note: • For those who have not yet traveled to Europe, you will receive a full refund and a 100 percent future cruise credit (FCC), plus any airline cancellation fees (see below for how to submit those receipts). * There is no need to call. Your refund will be automatically processed to your original form of payment. • For those who are already in Europe, we will reimburse you for two nights of hotel (up to US$300 per night) and a food per diem of US$100 per day, per person, beginning on Friday to cover your expenses for the cancelled cruise. We will also cover any airline change fees if you decide to return home now. • Based on when we can make the repairs and return the ship to Dover, we may be able to operate a revised itinerary with a shorter cruise that will end in Dover on the originally scheduled debarkation date of Sunday, July 30. We will send a follow-up communication on Thursday with the revised itinerary. If we are able to operate a shorter cruise, we will provide a prorated refund of your original cruise fare and an onboard credit. • We are also exploring any availability on 7-day cruises out of Southampton on July 22 on our sister lines. Receipts for the reimbursement for airline rebooking fees, hotel and food per diems should be sent to airreimbursements@carnival.com. Other travel-related expenses directly related to this travel disruption may be submitted and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Thank you for your understanding. And again, our most sincere apologies” ---------------------- I know that this will be such disappointing news for those of you due to cruise. Many of you wrote to me today saying you were getting ready to fly to London or are indeed already there. My heartfelt apologies to you all. I will be here for the next hour or so to answer any questions you may have and please do put them here under this post and I will be here to listen and help if I can. Thank you and my best wishes for happy days ahead John
