You don’t go to Alaska for good weather and there is a reason it’s called a rainforest. Still this was a very soggy day. A booked cruise excursion saw us take a guided forest walk. This was excellent with a knowledgeable local guide who grew up in the area. This makes a difference on such tours. Great scenery and a little bit of wildlife. The town itself is great and has plenty of character. Creek Street is a tourist trap but can’t be missed. It really is pretty and fun too. Definitely worth a walk round the wider town, including the fish ladder, city park, Totem heritage centre and also the historic harbour area. Plenty of shops to buy souvenirs and good restaurants too. Great place. Check out Alaska cruise deals at the link below and you'll also be helping our Channel.
