YouTube Video Description↓

We finally have a glimpse at what cruising with Royal Caribbean during COVID-19 will look like! This comprehensive plan, called the Royal Promise, is currently only applicable to cruises in Singapore. However, it is likely that most of this plan will also be adopted on Royal Caribbean ships once cruising resumes in the United States. When Quantum of the Seas begins cruising from Singapore in December, there will be a number of new health and safety measures in place. Not to much surprise, Royal Caribbean will be implementing a number of recommendations from its Healthy Sail Panel report on these cruises. Finally, we have the details that most cruisers have been long awaiting. Among the Royal Caribbean COVID-19 changes, every guest and crew member will be required to test negative for COVID-19. Testing must be completed within 48 to 72 hours prior to boarding. Royal Caribbean will even cover the cost of tests for sailings in Singapore. For cruises booked after the end date of Cruise with Confidence, guests can still receive 100% Future Cruise Credit in the event they contract COVID-19 within the three weeks before departure and are unable to cruise. Another cruise change due to COVID-19 on Royal Caribbean ships will be face masks. Face masks will be required onboard Royal Caribbean cruise ships by crew members and guests at all times to help keep everyone safer. Masks are required in all indoor and outdoor spaces, with some exceptions. Mainly, guests will not need to wear a face mask in their staterooms, while in the pool, or while eating or drinking at a socially distanced table at restaurants, bars, and lounges. On the pool deck, the capacity in the pools will be limited to 50%. Further, all loungers will be spaced to allow for proper distancing between groups. All sports deck equipment will be frequently sanitized, and there will be crowd limits in popular attractions like the North Star. There will also be increased hand sanitizing stations around the ship and safety ambassadors to ensure all cruisers are following the rules. Other Royal Caribbean COVID changes are being made to inside spaces. Indoors, all venues will also be limited to 50% capacity. All restaurants, bars, and lounges will have socially distanced tables and will utilize QR menus for ordering. Further, venues like guest services and the shore excursions desk will have virtual queue systems in place. Of course, there will also be increased sanitation of all these public venues as well. Guests can rest assured as there will now be 100% fresh air from outside continuously supplied to all public spaces and all staterooms. Royal Caribbean will also supply complimentary face masks and hand sanitizing gel in your stateroom. Cruisers will also now be able to complete the safety drill by watching the muster video from the comfort of their in-stateroom television.
