Dancing With Hurricane Irma
YouTube Video Description↓
Carnival Cruise Line | Eastern Caribbean The entirety of this trip, we were one day ahead of the path of Hurricane Irma. It’s hard to put into words what we experienced as we left ports knowing these people would be without shelter, food, water, and would soon be rebuilding their communities. We made friends with staff on board the ship, who had family and friends in the path about to be hit by the hurricane. Their faces showing fear and concern for their loved ones as we watched and heard news together. Humbling. Luckily, we remained safe and the Captain navigated us safely around the Hurricanes. Even now, nearly 8 months later, some of these locations are still without power and fresh water. It opened my eyes to being more grateful for the things I have, and the stupid things I complain about. It helped me prioritize what is important in life. I hope these words help you to do the same.
