Dining is a big part of the cruising experience and each cruise line does it differently. Disney Cruise Line keeps dining traditional with set dining times and they also have rotational dining. We get lots of questions about dress code and what to expect. We are going to tell you everything you need to know about Disney Cruise dining so you are prepared for your cruise. One of the things that is unique about Disney Cruise Line Dining Room experience is that they have rotational dining, this allows you to try all three themed dining rooms on board. You will rotate with your table mates, and servers so they get to know your preferences. It is nice on a Disney Cruise you can order food from other restaurants if you would prefer something on a different menu so be sure to check them out. The Disney Cruise Dining room rotations allow you to try a very unique experience each night so you never get bored. Many cruise lines are leaning towards anytime dining but Disney has kept the traditional dining times. This means Disney Cruise Line restaurants will have two seatings and the times may be different depending on your itinerary. If sailing out of the US, often the first seating is at 5:45 and the second is at 8pm. If you are departing from Europe it is 6pm and 8:30pm. This makes Disney Cruise ship dining a very traditional experience lining up waiting to get in and everyone being sat at the same time. It can be hard if you are used to more flexibility when traveling. Let's take a look at the menu, we found the Disney Cruise line food to be really fresh and good quality. At each restaurant there was a good amount of options and we always found something we enjoyed. The menus are themed to the restaurant you are at, and each restaurant has its own specialty cocktails and mocktails. It is a three course meal with appetizers, mains and desserts. I often chose a couple appetizers and that was no problem. All the menus had a list of entrees, some vegetarian dishes and lighter options.
