Last week, CLIA (Cruise Line International Association) unveiled a set of safety guidelines that they will be presenting to the CDC to help cruises return to sailing in 2020. Disney Cruise Line is a member of the CLIA and if these mandates are approved by the CDC, they will have to follow these as well. Some of the key takeaways are that mandatory COVID testing will be taking place prior to embarkation, masks will be mandatory and social distancing elements throughout the ships will be enforced. In the latest update from CLIA, they specifically called out that they will be presenting these to the CDC for a return to sailing this year. While we await CDC approval of these safety measures, Disney has already cancelled cruises through mid-December, which only gives them about a two week window to sail in 2020.
