If you are a first time or even a frequent cruiser, we have 5 MISTAKES for you to avoid when selling with Disney Cruise Line. Plan your best cruise vacation by following our tips and tricks! **To get started, visit Vacationeer.com/YouTube.** Don’t sail without purchasing Travel Insurance -Travel insurance does so much more than protect the expense of your trip if you have to cancel. -With any vacation, a number of unforeseen circumstances could delay or cancel your trip including weather. Any cruise vacation comes with some level of risk of tropical storm or hurricane. Cruise lines and insurance agencies have strict rules around when policies can be purchased and claims can be filed in the event of a storm. Be sure you speak with a representative to best understand what will be covered. -Your travel insurance may also cover lost luggage, transportation expenses, onboard medical expenses, emergency medical transportation. -If passengers require use of a med-evac helicopter for a medical emergency, that bill could be in the thousands. A good travel insurance policy can assist with that. Nobody plans for any incidents, but that’s exactly what travel insurance is for. -Each travel insurance policy varies, so make sure you understand how and when you can make a claim when purchasing. Don’t plan your departure and arrival flights too close to your embarkation and disembarkation time frames. -When selecting your inbound and outbound flights make sure to plan for more than enough time to transfer to and from the embarkation port. To avoid stress, potentially missing your cruise, and panic calling your travel agent, allow your yourself time and wiggle room. Things don’t always go wrong with your transportation, but when they do it put a big kink in the schedule. -Airlines frequently have delays or cancellations. Disney Cruise Line may see delays occur as well, although they do their best to stick to the written schedule. -Prior to cruise, one of the best strategies is to book a pre-night hotel stay nearby the port. Arrive the night prior and spend a leisurely morning near by the cruise ship. Guests sailing out of Port Canaveral may even stay at Walt Disney World resort the night prior, and schedule transfer to the port. -Speak with your travel agent about potentially packaging a pre-night stay and transfer into your Disney Cruise Line package. -The disembarkation process takes time. So although your ship may be docked at port prior to you waking that morning, getting off the ship and processing through customs may take a few hours. Allow yourself time to eat breakfast, disembark, and transfer over to the airport. Don’t require yourself to rush through checked luggage and security lines because we know that never goes well. Don’t Over Plan Activities Prior to Sailing -If you are a planner (like me) and get easily excited about knowing every moment of your upcoming vacation, it’s simple to over plan your activities before boarding the ship. -Prior to sailing, it is important that you complete your online check-in and select port adventures and a select few limited onboard activities that you know are priorities for your family. -Majority of ship activities become available for viewing once onboard your Disney Cruise. Character meet and greets, deck parties, stage shows, and games and contest galore will be posted within your Navigator app. -Be sure to leave space for adding some of Disney’s best activities into your schedule. But also allow time for relaxing by the pool, chatting in the lounge, or just napping in your stateroom. It is a vacation, make space to take a break. Don’t Forget to Pack a Carry On Bag -At the time of check-in at your embarkation port, you will hand off your luggage to the cruise ship staff. This saves you the hassle of toting it through all of security, check-in, and boarding. -However, once onboard, your stateroom may not be readily available due to the transitioning of the ship from the last sailing. But you will have access to many other areas of the ship such as dining, pool, and water activities. -Be sure to pack a carry on bag with items that will help you immediately jump into enjoying your cruise. Think of things like a swimsuit, change of clothing, toiletries, medicines, and any alcohol you are brining onboard. Don’t book a cruise without getting onboard credit -Can you book your Disney Cruise Line vacation on your own, yes. But will you get upto $1000 in FREE onboard credit, no. -Onboard credit aboard Disney Cruise Line can pay for or offset the cost of activities, souvenirs, or even port adventures. -The Vacationeer offers free onboard credit as a thank you for choosing to book your Disney Cruise through us. And seriously, its free. -You can start with a Free Quote and even get expert Free Planing from our team of agents throughout the entire process. You pay nothing extra to book your cruise through The Vacationeer, and we even give you something in return.
