Join us as we embark on an unforgettable journey through the legendary Panama Canal aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey! 🌊 This engineering marvel, completed in 1914, connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans through its intricate lock system, including the famous Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Locks. 🌏 With six expert pilots taking over navigation, we learned fascinating details about the canal’s history via the loudspeaker—an educational and breathtaking experience! 📖 Johan captured the entire passage in stunning detail, including a mesmerizing time-lapse of the locks in action. 🎥 But it wasn’t all smooth sailing—while filming in the rain, Johan got soaked and bitten by a tropical bug 🦟, leading to a nasty infection. The bite was gross (red, leaking pus 🤢) and required immediate medical attention. Luckily, the ship’s on-call doctor was fantastic, providing a free consultation and effective treatment (steroid shots, antibiotics, and cream) for just $55. 💉 Johan’s feeling much better now, but he opted not to film the gross part! Villa Vie made the journey even better by serving beers 🍺 on deck as we marveled at this historic passage.
