Creator's Key Takeaways

The most important rule of our train ride today is there is absolutely no crossing from car to car. This is for your own safety.

You can see it right there in all its glory. You wonder as we're about to come through. As long as it's not too foggy.

All right, here we go, folks. Get those cameras ready. It's coming up on our left, Bridal Veil Falls.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Do not attempt to cross between train cars using the metal aprons as they are unstable and unsafe.

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

On our Alaskan Cruise on the Disney Wonder (June 15-22, 2026) we signed up for SW65 in Skagway: Gold Fever, Alaskan Sled Dogs and Exclusive Scenic Railway. Our Skagway day started out with a drizzle, but that passed as the excursion went on. Luckily the train is enclosed, unless you go onto the platform, and the Dog Sled and Gold Panning sections of the tour have covers. We started with the train which was waiting just beyond the ship when we exited. Our excursion group had a whole train car to ourselves and our guide was with us the whole way. We had a sandwich and snack during the journey. The train ride was beautiful even in the fog and rain. After the train it was a short bus ride over to where we learned about sled dogs and gold panning. After a sled demonstration everyone had a chance to hold puppies. At the very end of the tour everyone in the group panned for gold and got to keep what they found.
